TWO SPECIAL WEEKS – FROM WMSD TO ALL-RUSSIAN MS DAY
In expectation of WMSD, President of the ARMSS Dr. Yan Vlasov and experts in MS conducted an online conference on the Web, where they raised and spoke their mind on topical medical and social issues (see web-conference here). This opened the two weeks of global fight against MS for us this year.
On 26 May, the ARMSS attended the awarding ceremony of the Festival of social internet resources ‘Equal Opportunities World’ in Moscow. The Society was the winner in one of its competitions. ARMSS IT Director Oleg Ipatov informed the Festival audience about WMSD and its purpose during the ceremony, and we are happy to dedicate this victory to the World MS Day.
Another noteworthy function took place in the city of Ulyanovsk. ARMSS regional branch Director Tatiana Bezhanova and staff managed to, firstly, conduct an interesting meeting when PwMS attended the city museum, and, secondly, attract lots of general public, officers of public institutions and government. Mrs Bezhanova managed to involve director of the city job centre, who in detail told the PwMS about job opportunities for them and answered their questions.
During the two weeks there were events held in most regional branches of the All-Russian MS Society, for example, in Samara, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Kirov, the Kalmyk Republic, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Orel, Orenburg, Stavropol, Taganrog, and many more where people did not want to be strangers to the world MS movement to support PwMS to be in employment.
The ARMSS has always worked to improve the quality of life of PwMS and integrate them in the society and ensure their right for recreation and work. Yet, the employment issues were central these days and helped focus on and resolve this social and economic problem that disabled people face.
